One of the Mayor of Knowsley’s charities, Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot, is celebrating 20 years of caring for local people. To commemorate the local support they’ve received throughout the years, the hospice is organising a programme of special events.
Since Willowbrook Hospice opened 20 years ago, it has helped around 8,000 local people and their families by providing specialist, high quality end of life care. As well as providing care through outpatient clinics, the hospice also provides different types of therapy, and spiritual and social support.
From baking cakes to jumping out of aeroplanes – local people in Knowsley and St Helens have continued to support Willowbrook Hospice. The hospice is hoping local people will continue to show their support and attend any of the events coming up. Anything you do such as coming along to an event or holding a bake sale will all help Willowbrook to continue to maintain and develop its wonderful services. The hospice relies solely on fundraising efforts and a modest contribution from the NHS so coming along to events such as these is really beneficial.
