A magical and funny show ideal for children between three and six and their grown ups is coming to Huyton Library.
‘5 More Minutes’, a play by Liverpool-based theatre company Travelled Companions, is all about bedtime and the adventures that come with it. While it can sometimes be the most frustrating time for parents, it’s often full of fun and fantasy for children.
The show explores that special time between the ‘real world’ and the ‘dream land’. The real world and the magical experience of dreaming will blur in this interactive family show involving puppetry and object manipulation.
5 More Minutes at Huyton Library is part of the Great Emerging Marvellous (GEM) Places Initiative which is funded through Arts Council England. The initiative aims to change the way people think and use libraries by bringing different type of art including visual art, live theatre, and music, to libraries. The initiative helps to promote libraries as a great community venue to meet people, learn, and socialise – not just to access books and computers. Knowsley libraries have benefited from the initiative already; families had the opportunity to get creative making a magical fairy lantern and over 65s could take part in free arts and creative activities with likeminded people in the Words of Wisdom programme.
There are three performances on Friday 25 January 2019 at the Culture Hub in Huyton Library. Performances are at 11am, 1.30pm and 5pm. Children are encouraged to come along to the evening show in pyjamas to be extra snug in the setting of a cosy tent filled with comfy, soft furnishing.
Tickets are just £3 per person and can be bought online or in person at Huyton Library. Please call 0151 443 5749 for more information.
