Spotting the possible signs of cancer and getting them checked can save your life – but many of us don’t get around to making an appointment as we’re busy with our day to day lives.
The iVan will be in Huyton Village On Tuesday 17 January and will be in Kirkby town centre, St Chad’s Parade, on Friday 3 February offering free health and cancer checks and advice.
From 10am to 4pm you can call into the iVan and discuss any other health concerns you may have with the expert staff. It’s free and completely confidential.
You can also find out more about different types of cancer and how to protect yourself. And if you have had signs or symptoms that you are concerned about you can be checked over and advised on whether any further action is needed.
The iVan will also be promoting the importance of prevention and early detection of bowel cancer.
Men and women aged 60 to 74 receive a free NHS bowel cancer screening kit routinely in the post, every two years.
It’s a simple and private test that can be done at home and is one of the best ways to find bowel cancer early, when it’s easier to treat successfully.
