Community and environmental groups in Kirkby are being advised of funding being available from Merseyside Energy Recovery Ltd (MERL) which will improve community life within Kirkby neighbourhoods. Awards of up to £20,000 will be made.
Funding is invited for projects which contribute towards:-
- Community improvement – the improvement or provision of publicly accessible community facilities or activities and events which bring residents together
- Health and wellbeing – activities which support local people to improve their health and wellbeing, social activities which reduce social isolation for older people, social events for families or activities and events for young people, promotion of walking, cycling and the use of public transport or the promotion of community food-growing projects.
- Environmental improvement – creation, enhancement or maintenance of local green spaces, improvement of local habitats for wildlife, projects which tackle local environmental concerns such as dog fouling, litter or graffiti.
To be eligible, your group must be working in one of the following wards – Northwood, Cherryfield, Shevington, Whitefield or Prescot North (Knowsley Village).
