The successful Knowsley Apprentice programme is once again recruiting, so if you’re leaving school or college this summer, think about becoming a Knowsley Apprentice.
Since 2008, the successful Knowsley Apprentice programme has helped 1,126 young people into apprenticeships with organisations across Knowsley and the wider Liverpool City Region.
This year, there are 50 vacancies in total ranging from baker and cake decorator, glass cutter through to construction, engineering, customer service and scaffolder.
Work, learn and earn
If you’re keen to get started in the world of work, an apprenticeship will give you the real work experience you need to get the edge in the job market. You will gain a recognised qualification and develop professional skills all while earning a good salary. You’ll also be allocated a mentor who will support you through your apprenticeship.
You don’t need experience, or lots of qualifications. If you have plenty of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, Knowsley Apprentice might be for you.
Earlier this year, Rebecca Blease, a Knowsley Apprentice at Keepmoat Homes, scooped a national award at the Keepmoat Homes Trainee, Apprentice and Graduate Awards. Rebecca joined the Knowsley Apprentice programme in December 2016 as a Customer Care Co-ordinator Apprentice, and she was commended for her outstanding customer service, achieving both the regional and national award.
Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said:
“Becoming a Knowsley Apprentice offers you a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience and qualifications which will hopefully lead to a full-time job. Our Knowsley Apprentice programme has made a real difference to the lives of so many young people and given them a really positive start to their working lives. I’d encourage everyone to take a look at the apprenticeship opportunities available here in Knowsley.”
