If you’re looking for an opportunity to improve your fitness in the great outdoors, then Knowsley parkrun is for you!
Every Saturday morning, Stadt Moers Park in Whiston, plays host to the Knowsley parkrun starting at 9am. It’s a free to enter timed 5k event that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get active outdoors. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a runner, jogger or walker, you‘ll be made to feel welcome by everyone involved.
The parkrun is organised by a dedicated team of volunteers, who give up a couple hours each week to help out.
To take part in parkrun as a runner or to volunteer, just visit the Knowsley parkrun website and register.
You’ll be sent a link to print off your own unique barcode which is scanned during your run to log your time. If you’re volunteering the barcode will register that you have helped.
Knowsley parkrun event director Chris Wills said: “We’re always looking for new volunteers and there are many ways that you can get involved. Each week we need a team of around 15 people to set up the route, marshal the course and to man the start and finish positions too.”
If you would like more information please email organisers at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
