Demand for adult social care services are increasing year on year.
Support includes helping people to live the lives they want to lead, remaining in their own home, and supporting people of all ages who have disabilities, mental health conditions or are generally frail, as well as their carers.
The Local Government Association have launched their own consultation ‘The Lives we want to lead’ in advance of the Government’s proposals to be contained within the Adult Social Care Green Paper due in the autumn.
The Local Government Association are seeking your views on Adult Social Care Services – how to fund the care we want to see in our local area for adults of all ages and how our wider care and health system can better support and improve people’s well-being.
The consultation asks for your views on the role of local councils in improving the health and well-being of residents, why you think Adult Social Care is important, the importance of decisions about health and social care being made locally, funding issues and options for change.
Further information, including the consultation online form, is available on the Local Government Association’s website and the closing date for comments is 26 September 2018.
