The council has been made aware, through social media, that a public meeting in Prescot has been convened for tomorrow evening (Thursday, 9 Nov) following the murder of Adam Ellison in the town.
Since the tragic events of the weekend, Knowsley Council has been in close contact with Merseyside Police and has committed to support them in any way it can to progress their investigation and reassure the local community.
At this stage, everyone’s priority is to identify the perpetrator of this awful crime and bring that person to justice. The council fully supports the police in that aim and understands that local residents share this resolve.
Having found out about the public meeting through social media, the council has liaised with Merseyside Police at short notice and will make arrangements for appropriate attendance at the meeting tomorrow. The council will also be represented by the local ward councillors who will be able to discuss any community concerns and feedback any issues to the relevant organisations.
The thoughts of everyone at the council remain with Adam’s family at this incredibly difficult time and with the officers of Merseyside Police who are working so hard to bring justice for his family.
The meeting takes place at Prescot Community Church, Kemble Street, Prescot from 6.30pm.
