Now that spring is here it’s the ideal time to make your garden gorgeous. So don’t forget to make the most of your blue bin to recycle all your garden waste easily.
What can I recycle in my blue bin?
You can recycle:
- grass cuttings
- hedge clippings
You can even recycle shredded paper and pet bedding, wood chippings, sawdust, straw and hay (clean and soiled) in your blue garden waste bin.
Can I have a bigger bin?
If you need a larger, or additional blue bin contact the Environmental Helpline on 443 2400 or apply online.
Using your blue bin ensures that this valuable waste doesn’t end up in expensive landfill sites; instead much of the garden waste in our blue bins is processed to produce useful compost.
Composting at home
You might consider composting at home. That way you’ll be recycling and creating your own rich, soil enhancing compost to help make your garden even more beautiful.
Once you’ve recycled everything from your garden, why not find out how you can recycle more in the home too?
