An upcoming local community project needs your imagination! Enter any of their competitions to help get the group up and running, and you could win some money for your help.
Catch22, a child protection and safety organisation, and DERiC, a company that raises funds to invest in communities, are working together to build a new project that will benefit the Bluebell Estate, Bakers Green and Longview in Huyton.
The project is in its early days and without any formal plans on what it will do or how funds will be raised, which is where you come in.
To make a start on deciding how the project will run, a fun day is being held for the local community so you can have your voice heard and share what you think your community is in need of.
There will be lots to do on the day such as a football tournament and various other activities that will be confirmed soon.
The fun day will be on Friday 18 August from 12pm to 4pm at King George V Playing Fields in Huyton, L36 7UN
There are three competitions surrounding the new project and you can enter more than one. These are:
- Suggest an idea for the project’s name
- Design a logo for the new project to use
- Bake a cake
If you think you know a good name for the upcoming project name and enter the competition, you will be in the chance of winning £50.
If you’re more artistic, you can show the people behind the community group your best design for the community project’s logo to also be in the chance of winning £50.
As the name of the project is not yet known, you can either leave a blank space on your logo for the winning name to be added in or the name can simply be added beneath the logo. If you wish to enter both categories, using your idea for the name on the logo is the ideal opportunity to see how the finish designed will really look!
You have as much creative freedom as you want so use your imagination and show off your creativity!
To enter, email your idea for the community project’s name and/or design for the logo along with your age, name and parent’s contact details to Karen.firstname.lastname@example.org or you can send them to:
FAO Lynsey Welsh
Huyton Municipal Building
Or drop your entry off at the council in person.
These two competitions are open to under 16s.
Please get your entry in by 11 August 2017.
Winners will be contacted shortly before the fun day on 18 August and also announced at the event.
