The team from Knowsley’s Shared Lives service will be out and about in a bid to recruit more Shared Lives carers.
The scheme, which is run by Knowsley Council, recruits carers to provide home-based care for disabled adults and older people needing support.
The Shared Lives team are encouraging people to come along and fine out more when they set up a stall at libraries across the borough in the coming months. The team will be at:
- Prescot Library, Thursday 3 May – 10:30am to 12:30pm
- Halewood Library, Monday 4 June – 10:30am to 12:30pm
- Kirkby Library, Tuesday 3 July – 10am to 12pm
Visitors to the stall will hear that there are lots of ways they can get involved with the Shared Lives scheme. They can offer a permanent home to someone, or short break support to give permanent carers a break. Recruits will receive payment of between £280 and £445 a week, extensive training and 24/7 support.
Both families and individuals of any age can get involved with Shared Lives – which offers a great opportunity for anyone seeking a new challenge, or maybe approaching retirement.
