Could you share your home to change a life? Find out more this Shared Lives Week (15 – 24 June)
The team from Knowsley’s Shared Lives service will be out and about in a bid to recruit more Shared Lives hosts.
The scheme, which recruits carers to provide home-based care for disabled adults, older and vulnerable people needing support, will be urging visitors to their stall to get involved.
To find out more, visit the team at:
- Kirkby Town Centre (by the tree): Monday, 18 June, 10am – 2pm
- Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park (Huyton Activity Base), Longview Drive, Huyton; Tuesday, 19 June, 5 – 7pm
- Halewood Shopping Centre (outside Subway), Leathers Lane: Wednesday, 20 June, 11am – 1pm
- Huyton Town Centre, (outside Home Bargains): Friday, 22 June, 10am – 2pm
They will explain that there are lots of ways people can get involved with the Shared Lives scheme. They can offer a permanent home to someone, or short break support to give permanent carers a break. Recruits will receive payment (between £280 and £445 per week), extensive training and 24/7 support.
There will also be an afternoon tea event to celebrate the contribution of Knowsley’s current Shared Lives carers on Thursday 21 June at the Halewood Centre.
Both families and individuals of any age can get involved with Shared Lives – which offers a great opportunity for anyone seeking a new challenge, or maybe approaching retirement.
