See Kirkby’s Christmas Lights Switch On
Come and see the legendary Jedward perform at this year’s Christmas Lights Switch On event in Kirkby. They’re everyone’s favourite X Factor duo with fabulous hair! British electronic music group N-Trance will also be there whose hit singles include ‘Set You Free’ and ‘Forever’.
There will also be a firework display and more!
The event will take place at Newton Gardens in Kirkby Town Centre on Thursday 23 November from 4pm to 7pm
Christmas Intrepid Explorers at Knowsley Safari Park
Knowsley Safari Park is holding an exciting Christmas Intrepid Explorers one day programme for seven to 10 year olds.
On the day, children can make presents for the safari animals at the Christmas workshop which the intrepids will help deliver to some of the park’s wonderful animals. Children can also get up close and personal with the animals on the safari drive and foot safari.
The events run on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and the cost is £27 for members and £30 for non-members.

See Prescot’s Christmas light switch on
Prescot Town Council is organising a Christmas Light Switch On event at Eccleston Street, Prescot on Saturday 2 December from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
There will be plenty of attractions including performances from the winners of Prescot’s Got Talent, Freshco Crew Breakdancing, the St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Centre for Learning’s choir and from Jan Williams School of Theatre. There will also be donkey rides and children’s fairground rides.
The Mayor of Prescot and Miss Prescot will be switching the lights on as well as giving away selection boxes.
Beauty and the Beast pantomime
Christmas isn’t Christmas without a panto!
Fortunately, you don’t have to go far this year as Trio Entertainment is bringing their twist on the classic family favourite story of Beauty and the Beast to Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park.
See Alex Reid appearing as the evil Gaston alongside Robert Brendan who will be the charming prince. Panto favourite Harry Moore will also be there as the hilarious Dame.
Shows are on:
Saturday 2 December at 7pm
Sunday 3 December at 1pm and 5pm
There are also school performances on:
Monday 4 December at 10am and 1.30pm
Tuesday 5 December at 10am and 1.30pm
Tickets are £8 for children, £10 for adults and £7 for school tickets. You can also buy 10 tickets and get one free if you’re taking a big group.

Knowsley’s Green Space Rangers are holding two ‘Christmas Cracker’ events for some classic family fun around Christmas time.
See Santa, go on a fair ride, take part in crafts, go on a trail, enjoy refreshments and do much more!
The Christmas Cracker events are on Saturday 2 December from 12pm to 2pm at Ten Acre Pits, and on Sunday 19 December from 12pm to 3pm at Court Hey Park.
At Ten Acre Pits, you can enjoy a choir and at Court Hey Park, you can enjoy donkeys!

Watch local school children’s Christmas concerts
Local school children are visiting Huyton Library over Christmas to sing some carols and spread Christmas cheer!
Children from Blackblow Brow Primary School will be singing to raise money for a choir competition in Manchester. You can see their performances on Friday 8 December at 10.30am
St Gabriel’s C of E Primary School will be singing beautiful Christmas songs on Tuesday 12 December at 10.30am
Year 4 pupils at St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School will be raising the audience’s spirits with their Christmas carols on Tuesday 19 December at 10.30am
Around 50 children in Year 5 at Huyton with Roby C of E Primary School will be putting smiles on people’s faces when they perform their concert on Friday 15 December on 1.45pm
You can just turn up on the day and enjoy seasonal refreshments during the performances.
Get along to Huyton’s Christmas lights switch-on
On Saturday, 9 December, Liverpool FC Legend Alan Kennedy will be joined by local X-Factor star Gary Barker to switch on the Christmas lights in Huyton town centre, funded this year by First Ark, parent company of Knowsley Housing Trust.
The fun starts from 4.30pm and entertainment will be provided by nationally famous dance group MD Productions, as well as a special visit from Father Christmas and his helpers.
There will be a Santa’s Grotto at Acorn Farm in Kirkby on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December between 12pm and 3pm.
It costs £5 per child and normal farm admission applies. Children will be given a wrapped Christmas present from Santa in the grotto!
Watch a Christmas concert
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Ensemble, Halewood Academy and Halewood Community Choir will be getting together to perform ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ this Christmas.
Get in the Christmas spirit and listen to beautiful performances of traditional Christmas classic songs such as Hark the Herald, In the Bleak Midwinter, Deck the Halls and Silent Night.
The concert is at Halewood Academy, The Avenue, Wood Road on Tuesday 12 December at 7pm

What’s on near Knowsley?
Liverpool’s Christmas Market
Liverpool’s Christmas Market is back for another year at St George’s Plateau outside St George’s Hall on Lime Street.
More than 40 cabins will line St George’s Plateau which will be selling hot and cold food and drink, and a range of craft and items.
Expect to find mulled wine, traditional beers and other festive drinks along with unique items such as handmade jewellery and Christmas decorations.
Liverpool’s Christmas Market will be open from on Friday 17 November to Friday 22 December.
River Mersey Christmas Market
More than 200 small businesses will be at the BT Convention Centre to make up Merseyside’s biggest indoor Christmas charity fundraising market which will benefit MCL Animal Rescue and RASA Merseyside.
There are so many things to buy at the market including toys and games, clothing, make up, confectionary, crafts and more. You can also expect to see Santa’s Grotto and children’s fair rides.
The market is on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November from 10am to 5pm at the BT Convention Centre at Kings Dock.
Tickets are £5.50 for a day or £8.80 for the weekend.
There’s so much to do at the Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival; ice skating, drinking at the ice bar, experiencing the ice slide, and trying some festive food.
The Ice Festival is at Pier Head in Liverpool from Friday 17 November to Sunday 7 January 2018.
